NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & SOCIAL ENTERPRISE PROJECTS...
 
dba has launched several new projects in the economic development and social enterprise sectors:

New Mexico Tech Commercialization Council Clean Tech Roadmap
The NMTCC, comprised of the leaders of NM's two national labs, three research universities, and others, engaged dba to prepare a roadmap for industry development in their selected strategic area of "Energy from the Sun."

New Mexico Research Applications Center
Working with Governor Richardson's Science Advisor and the NM Economic Development Dept., dba prepared the preliminary strategy and business plan for this newly formed entity, designed to accelerate the commercialization of technologies from the State's research centers.

Santa Fe Innovation Park
SFIP is an applied solutions laboratory, currently in its preliminary implementation phase. It will rely on trans-disciplinary creative problem solving techniques to produce highly innovative solutions in such complex areas as energy, climate, education, health, and globalization. As part of SFIP, two related initiatives are also in development:

  • Center for Applied Science & Engineering: CASE is designed to draw intellectual capital from Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories, along with other prestigious research institutions, to address the climate/energy challenge under a specialized program, and utlizing SFIP's trans-disciplinary techniques.
  • Manhattan Project 2.0: A proposed federal program to be conducted at CASE to produce radically new approaches to the energy/climate challenge.
SFIP's initial planning, under dba's direction, was supported by the City of Santa Fe and private and philantrhopic donations. The project is entering its implementation state.


GLOBOLOPOLIS
GLOBOLOPOLIS will foster the growth of an international community, focused on cross-cultural perspectives and approaches to problem solving using conventional and digital media. It will combine a technologically advanced web platform with a global alliance of institutional partners, along with educational and R&D functions. Watch www.globolopolis.net for more.
